I have a server that my host set up for me. They set up squirrel mail but I have no clue how to get IMAP working on my iPhone to access the email. Anyone want to guide me? I have been searching all day and all of this stuff is way over my head. Since I didnt install the ispconfig and setup the server, I have no idea what they missed.
so after pulling my hair out all day yesterday, I think I figured it out. I followed the tutorial of setting up mail part and redid everything since I had no idea what the person did to set up my server. ( I dont think they set up mail right even though they had squirrelmail working for me) I set up a codomain mail.mydomain.com used that for the imap and smtp server turned off ssl used web3_info for the user name (how can I use the actual email [email protected]?) Thanks for all of the great info at this site!
The username for pop3 and imap in ispconfig 2 has the format web3_info. The email address can only be used in squirrelmail as it contains a patch for reading the actual web[ID]_user username for a given email address from the ispconfig database.
