Hi Guys, I Set up a server with suse10.3, its a mail server and it also has to double as an Internet server; My problem is im not yet good at configuring IPTABLES, can any one help with this? My Server already has internet and Has to NICS, one configured with Global IP's and the second is the internal, part of my LAN. How do i configure the server, such that my LAN clients connect through it, i dont want to use squid, i need them to connect directly. Thank You.
Either with yast, or you take a look at a (imgo) good abstraction script for iptables called firehol. Here you can easily set up your rules, but also output the generated iptables-rules that can help you to unterstand how iptables rules can be built.
Hi Guys, thank you so much for the help, atleast now i have configured the server as a gateway and my lan clients can surf the internet, now my only trouble is securing the server. N'ways let me read on and follow some Security Howto's; has anyone got a link for such? Thanx
