I've followed the "Configuring Samba 3.0 To Use The ADS Security Mode (CentOS)" how-to and have run into a snag. I tried using my Administrative login/password for the A/D, and received the error message "kinit(v5): Preauthentication failed while getting initial credentials." So, I created a new user, and remembering that I should have changed the password at least once since creating the user, I set the password to require changing, logged into a machine, got the message that I needed to change my password, did so, logged out and then logged back into the A/D controller to change it again.

Upon trying to run kinit again, I got a different error message as follows -- "kinit(v5): KDC reply did not match expectations while getting initial credentials." Can anyone advise what I need to do to fix this?

FWIW, I'm on an Active Directory 2003 domain, trying to join a CentOS 5.2 machine to the A/D. I'm not exactly a newbie at running linux, but I am very green when it comes to making A/D and linux work together.

I'd appreciate any help. I *did* search this site for that error message, but came up empty.
