Hey do you reckon that we can have a how-to for hosting your own site on a home network for noobs using ubuntu server

    It would address such as:

    1) Getting a domain
    2) Setting the server up
    3) Getting the domain to point to the server you set up
    4) Nameservers (like above)
    5) Port forwarding (just mention it. dont go into it in great detail)

I think that this would be really handy. I know there are howtos on how to set up a server, but they dont really explain how to host one at home by yourself...

I would love it if one like this were made and i would definitly use it

Also, can it include how to set up a caching DNS server and make a fake domain such as home.foo and make server1.home.foo point to the computer server1 and laptop.home.foo point to the laptop

Is there a How To explaining how to set-up a LAMP box and using a dynamic DNS provider?
