I changed the hostname of ispconfig but still cannot see new panel domain if i go to the old one it shows there i tried "Change the server name in /etc/postfix/main.cf, /etc/hosts, /etc/hostname, /etc/mailname, /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/lib/config.inc.php and in ISPConfig under management > server > settings." as till mentioned in another article Am i missing something, do i need to run something else, do i need to regenrate postfix and ssl and if yes please let me know
Did you restart the server? The new hostname gets applied on restart. After the restart, you can get a new SSL cert with: ispconfig_update.sh --force and then choose to recreate the SSL cert when the updater asks.
Did you add the new hostname to name service? If not, you can test with this method: https://www.faqforge.com/windows/how-to-access-a-namebased-website-without-a-dns-record/
yes i did, i ended up removing the server and just bought another one im an getting an error on the new server where ssl is not valid for panel should i wait till dns fully propergates but thank you
You must wait until the certificate authority has the new DNS info. It checks the domain name leads to your server and that check fails if it goes to the wrong server.
ok gotcha, should i renew the certificate it still not secured i used the new ispconfig auto installer
Did you do what @till suggested in #2? If that does not help, do https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/please-read-before-posting.58408/ and https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/lets-encrypt-error-faq.74179/
