How much work do I have to do with ISPConfig Migration Tool

    Hi
I want to migrate an ISP Config 3.1 installation from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS.
Lots of the sites are legacy and still running php 5.6 & mysql 5.5.62. I have installed various php versions via ISP COnfig to keep these going until I have the time to rewrite them for php 7.
What would I have to do to migrate without breaking anything (considering Ubuntu 18.04 doesn;t come with php version 5 installed)?
I set up the current Ubuntu setup using Till's Perfect Server guide and I would first do the same for the new 18.04 server...
How much do I need to do before running the migration tool?
Then do I need to install ISP Config 3.1 on the new server and install additional php versions manually or would the migration tool do that?
    Many Thanks,

ISPconfig must be installed on the new server and additional PHP versions must be installed too if you want to use them. The Migration tool then imports websites, databases, email accounts, DNS records etc. into the new ispconfig system.

    thanks Till - I think I'll give it a try soon :)
BTW I bought ISPConfig last time I moved servers about a couple of years ago. Do I have to repurchase?

If you like to use the new Migration Tool 2.0, then you will have to re-purchase it. You get it at a lower license price of 39 EUR net here: https://www.ispconfig.org/migration-tool-update/

I guess the old Migration Tool 1.0 should still work with current ISPConfig versions, I have not tested it with 3.1.13 though. So if you were satisfied with the old tool, then you should still be able to use it today.
