A subdomain is a seperate and independed website. You simply can create a subdomain in ISPConfig by creating a new site with the required subdomainname within the field "Host" and the domain name within the field "domain".
hm, I just stumbled over the very same thing. What you are saying is, I create a subdomain of an existing domain by creating a new web? But what is the tab "Co-Domain" for then? I can enter a host name there and a subdirectory, just as I would need it, but it won't create the vhost entry. Edit: found a different error, I had a directive in one site, so I always had httpd -t error in ispconfig.log, and the vhost config was copied back. Those httpd -t errors really need to be made visible somehow...
