Uninstall ispconfig by using uninstall.php and then install it again. But you may not have added any websites or mail domains in ispconfig before on that node.

ok so i get the first part uninstall it then reinstall. but that is the thing this is a fully active server so im assuming i will lose everything with uninstall and reinstall so im guesing i should back the server files up before performing this change?

Thi won't work on a server that is in use already. The uninstall removes ispconfig, but not the websites. but you can't install ispconfig again then as the still existing sites will conflict with the ISPConfig install. So either you backup your data, format the server and install it from scratch or you add a new third server as slave system to your master server, then import the websites and data from the current 'single' server that you want to add with the ISPConfig Migration tool into your new multiserver setup and then 'retire' the single server.

Ensure that you can connect as mysql root user from slave to master server, as that#s what ISPConfig is doing during install.
