I had recently installed ISPconfig on Ubuntu 18.04 and created a website and installed wordpress on it, now i want to host media files on sub domain, so i created another website, not sub domain as media.mydomain.com. I have a folder inside mydomain.com named media, in which i have all media files. Now i wanted to change the Document Root of subdomain so i added DocumentRoot "/var/www/clients/client1/web5/web/media" when i open mydomain.com/media, page opens but when i try to open media.mydomain.com, it gives 403 error.
Delete the website that you've added for the subdomain and create a vhost subdomain instead. Vhost subdomains can be activated under system > Interface config.
