    Hi,

    Typical newbie problem:

I started by installing Debian Sarge and then tried Ubuntu 6.10 server, following the excellent guide on this site. I've now managed to get the server up and running I think? It's somewhat of a mythical beast, but im learning all the time.

I've tested my site by adding
    192.168.1.7 icanlearnit.net www.icanlearnit.net
to windows hosts file and I can access the site

In my site setup I have the following things:

    ISP Manager
    Create DNS - Yes
    Create DNS-MX - Yes

    DNS Manager
    Nameserver 1: elmo.icanlearnit.net
    Nameserver 2: elmo2.icanlearnit.net

Im confused on what should be setup on the webserver itself and also what settings I need to change on the domain management system on opensrs.

On the domain management system I tried adding my ip address to the A, CNAME and TXT records and adding nameservers elmo.icanlearnit.net and elmo2.icanlearnit.net both pointing to my ip address

Are there any guides available for complete novices at this type of setup procedure? Im baffled by all this DNS,Nameservers,A Records, MX records CNAME?!
