How to Harden system

Is there anyone who can give me a documents or in pdf in a complete instruction guide about system hardening for a newbie like me.

Wow, i like it so much Falko. thanks for that. But my only question is, is CentOS also supported by Bastille-Linux software? I did not see name of CentOS appear except that it supported red hat.

If it works on RHEL, it should work on CentOS as well.
