    Hi all

I'm looking for a way to image my preconfigured Linux server(s) onto DVD for easy deployment at client sites, especially if the client if 1200KM away.

So far, I had a look @ Ghost4Linux & SysImager and both need to write to an FTP server for the backups.

Before I even download & try these, I would like to find out, what do you use for this purpose?
    My needs are simple, really:

    1. Backup entire system, including partitioning info and boot loader to DVD
    2. If a problem arise, I want to be able to guide the client over the phone to restore the whole system, but it should really be as automated as possible.

I basically want to achieve the same as what HP has done in terms of Laptop image CD's, I put in the 1st CD and it tells me it's going to format the HDD and restore to factory default, at which point it creates 2 partitions (1 being 8GB, at the end of the HDD), formats both, installs all the software from the 3CD's and viola, I have a working laptop again :)

How would I accomplish this with Linux?

I had a look @ it, but since the documentation is limited, and I can't really see how it could work with existing partitioning info (software RAID 1) in this case, nor see / figure out how well the restore process works, I'd rather not try it. The system is a live system, so I can't really mess out
