    Hi there,

I'm setting up a intranet at home, and want to create a webserver (and mail, ftp etc..) for internal use. I do NOT want to use a "normal" domain name. I "only" want to use it for developing websites, and I want the network to be completely isolated from the internet.

My idea is, that I could use the DNS server in ISPConfig 3, but so far I have not been able to make it work.

Any ideas how to accomplish this ?

The easest way is to use the hosts file which exists on windows / mac and linux:

If you want to use a dns server instead, the setup dns domains that dont exist in the internet like mywebsite.local in the dns server. Then configure your desktop computers network card settings to use the ispconfig dns server as dns server for name resolving.
