How to update/move site?

    So I have www.site.com working, and have magento shopping cart installed.
    Now I want to switch to different shopping cart, e.g. 3dcart on www.site.com. however, I don't want to take my magento site down, since migrating the data takes time. I would like to install 3dcart on the server, and once the migration is done and testing are finished, just change the folder and let www.site.com point to the 3d cart install folder. Can this be done?

    You may creat testing.site.com vhost, there install 3dcart, prepare everything, when when You will be done,
    change vhost www.site.com in ispconfig into old.site.com, and secondly change testing.site.com into www.site.com.

    Thanks, you mean create site? where is the vhost configuration?

    yes

    You don't need the vhost configuration for that. All you have to do is login to ispconfig, create a new site, update/test it in the new site and then change the domain names in ISPConfig.
