I have a mailserver behind a mailgw, mailserver is only a mail store, so it is protected by mailgw for virus and spamming. As there are many mailboxes, the load average is very high and I am trying to mitigate it. I tryed to remove amavis by main.cf, and stopped amavis. All is working fine, but mail aliases delivery rely on amavis, so mail delivery to alias is disabled too. Reconfigured amavis on main.cf and restarted amavis, now mail aliases are delivered. Load average very high, again, sadly. How can overcome this, apart from to power vm's cpu? Can I disable amavis but still have dovecot deliverying to mail aliases? thnx
