Squirrelmail how to posted For production environments, i think it is better not to use Squirrelmail provided by Debian. I recomend to use the Squirrelmail download on http://www.squirrelmail.org/ Today i have written a "How to" and i've also posted it into the Howtos section of HowtoForge. I guess it will be published soon by Falko or Till. This How to will guide you to setup the Squirrelmail webmail client running on port 80 in the webspace and domainname of your choice. I think it is a nice alternative for the Squirrelmail pack which you can download form http://www.ispconfig.org, which is running on port 81 after installation.
Why do you think it's better not to use the one delievered with Debian? I try to use software only that I can install with apt-get because that will keep maintenance low and those packages haven been proven stable... furthermore I don't need to worry about dependencies...
Hi Sjau, You're completely right about the great package system provided by Debian. More early this year i did my first Squirrelmail setup on Debian. During that period, Till recomended me to use the Squirrelmail package from http://www.squirrelmail.org/ for production environments and not to use the one provided by Debian. I trust Till on his expertise, so this is my reason why.
