I am at the point where I try to sign on to Squirrel Mail using www.praisebandexchange.com/squirrelmail and I have a userid and password in the mail mysql database. I cannot log on using that name and password. It says invalid user or passsword. I look at the user using myphpadmin and copy the username, paste it in the squirrelmail login, copy the password, paste it in the password, so I know it's not a typo. Where do I go to start troubleshooting this? Thanks in advance. Lynn

Tried that I tried to login with [email protected] and it says Unknown user or password incorrect. Is there a log I can look at for SquirrelMail that will show me the problem? How can I tell if it's actually going to the Mysql Mail database for authentication?

Outlook will only get message in imap, not pop3 mode I tried to set up my outlook to retrieve mail using pop3, but it doesn't return any mail. If I setup the account as an imap account, I can get the mail. Where do I start troubleshooting this? The mail log shows the logon when the account is setup as pop3, but no transfer is done. there is no praisebandexchange.tld domain. that is just an example domain in tutorial. You should use your own domain. something like praisebandexchange.com .tld = Top Level Domain
Thanks, I caught that. Thanks a lot. I actually had caught that and changed it. My problem with Outlook was simply operator error (mine) in that I had setup a subset of accounts in the send-receive group and the postfix account was not included in the group. Sorry to waste your time. I am really enjoying this. My background is in AS/400 and Windows Server, but I am really liking Ubuntu. Thanks again. Lynn
Mine was/is also Windows Server (since 3.51) and related product line but I was always of opinion that Linux and Unix is healthier environment for web servers. Initial setup is little bit confusing, for a Windows user. Thanks to ISPConfig, and great tutorials on www.howtoforge.com, web server maintenance is easier and since it relies on Linux installation you can freely update and maintain basic Linux system without endangering ISPConfig.
