I don't know if I should start two different threads here or not but I am having trouble with email not being delivered for hours or even days. I have searched the threads here and I haven't been able to find the solution. I have included information below, if you need anything else please feel free to let me know what you need. Like I said earlier the mail is taking forever to deliver and the /var/spool/clientmqueue is growing. I personally haven't had trouble getting my mail aside from it being delayed but some people have had trouble just getting their mail client to authenticate. Also, this is probably not really related, but I get a huge amount of mail for users that are no longer with us or have never existed. As far as the authentication issue is concerned, None of the site administrators can login to their control panel. I can login as the server administrator but not as the site administrator. Everyone can login as a mailuser with no problem too. Also, just a note, I have never been able to ftp in to any site unless I use SFTP. This isn't much of a problem for me but it is a real problem for my customers because they don't even know what SFTP is. Looks ok. Is this a physical server or a virtual machine? If it's a virtual machine, what virtualization technique (OpenVZ/Virtuozzo, Xen, KVM, VMware, etc.) do you use?
OK, I got the email issue fixed, I think anyway. Now I wish I could understand the authenication process ISPconfig uses. When the site administrator logs on to the site control panel, should he/she use the prefix and username or just username?
You mix up system users (they can use email and FTP) and ISPConfig users (they can only use ISPConfig).
I guess I just don't understand what you mean by "system users" and "ISPconfig users". I don't create any users using the "useradd" command. All the users are created in ISPconfig, how do I know which ones are system users and which ones are ISPconfig users?
I just found something that might help, when I create a new user, authentication work fine one time then it doesn't let you log in again.
Any errors in your logs? ISPConfig users are the users that can log into ISPConfig. System users are the users that you create on the "User & Email" tab.
