IMAP and Sent Mail folder... ?

I have always used pop3, but as I more than earlier need to access my mail from various locations, I've tried to use IMAP. It works OK, but I have a problem with my "Sent Mail" folder - it's only a local folder, not an IMAP folder. How can I change that? I mean, my sent mails are just as important to have on the server as my inbox!

Besides that - I love IMAP

 

You have to change this setting in your mail client.

 

Well, both Evolution and Outlook displays the error message "Invalid Mailbox Name"... How come?

 

What imap server are you using? dovecot? courier?

Ok, the problem might be that by default your are not allowed to create folders, only subfolders. So if you specify INBOX.sent this might solve your problem.

OK. Is it possible to allow users to create folders then?

 

I don't use courier anymore, but if I remember correctly there was a path in order to modify this behavior. But this means you have to recompile by hand.
