Hello, I want to share one of my directory as iSCSI target. My configuration is like this: OS: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS / 64 bit Drives: 2 x 1 TB / Software RAID1 (howto by Falko) I checked http://www.howtoforge.com/using-iscsi-on-ubuntu-9.04-initiator-and-target to reach the goal, but it seems I can not use my existing drives as iSCSI target. Is it possible to make only one directory as iSCSI target? Thanks in advance. Dipesh
You can use unused logical volumes, image files, hard drives (e.g. /dev/sdb), hard drive partitions (e.g. /dev/sdb1) or RAID devices (e.g. /dev/md0) for the storage.
Thanks for your reply. I understand this, but I do not have such unused volume/drive, the server I am talking about is already in use. Anyway, if I couldn't find any alternatives, I shall add drives to the server. Dipesh
