For your example installation for Centos 5.3 located at http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-centos-5.3-x86_64-ispconfig-3 what dns ips are those in the DNS servers (e.g. 213.191.92.86 and 145.253.2.75): in your example? If I change them to something else, I get an error with the yum update. Thanx
Perfect server ISPconfig Hi I was following the tutorial from http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-9.04-ispconfig-3-p3 and i got stuck at network config I`m VERRY new with linux ... my first ubuntu server instalation so the problem is: i run this step: vi /etc/network/interfaces then i save (i think so .. using ctrl+c :quit!) but no saves seem to be in effect i restart the network after that i run this vi /etc/hosts i make the necesary modifications afetr that i run this: echo server1.example.com > /etc/hostname it says nothing after that i run this: /etc/init.d/hostname.sh start and it says: bash: /etc/init.d/hostname.sh: No such file or directory it`s obvious i got an error but still i run these commands: hostname (result KNO <- that`s how i named it instead of server1) hostname -f (result kno.homenet.telecomitalia.it <- i guess that`s instead of example.com)\ Please tell me what i did wrong? Maybe i didn`t saved properly? Thanks
9.10 but i got it working thanks .. i use nano text editor .. that`s for noobs ) (first i was using vi like the tutorial says)
Thanks for answering. I put two DNS numbers given to me from my local ISP, and that's what I'm having problems with. I have a static IP associated with them. Shouldn't this work then? Uhm... theres was an ad in my post that I didn't put there...??? when I put this line in it disappeard??
