A very novice question here sorry, and I appologise in advance if it's trivial.

Using the "Installing Apache2 With PHP5 And MySQL Support On Ubuntu 10.10 (LAMP)" VMware image & tutorial, after changing the eth0 IP address (etc), default gateway etc. via ifconfig, upon reboot, it's back to 192.168.0.100!

The image is running under vSphere 4.1, and current VMware Tools have not been installed, but that could not be the reason for this issue.

Question: is 192.168.0.100 an Ubuntu default or somehow hard-coded in by the developer (Falko Timme, and thanks otherwise!) that we should be changing somewhere? Should I be contacting him directly instead?

    Thanks for any help.

You can change it in /etc/network/interfaces.

Thanks, I'm just a novice, the GUI's always sorted it for me!
