Installing mandriva/fedora

    I used a checksum program to check the md5 hash was the same as the one listed on the Ubuntu hashes list when i burnt a copy of ubuntu, would i do the same if i wanted to put a copy of mandriva or fedora onto DVD,

    Yes, if you know the MD5 checksums of the images. But Fedora uses SHA1 checksums instead of MD5 checksums AFAIK. The tool to check SHA1 checksums is sha1sum, I think.

    I guess Mandriva is using MD5 checksums.
