I would like to add OpenVS to my existing ISPC 3 - can I just do it by following below (w/o ISPC3 install part)? (I have Debian 6.0). http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-openvz-plus-management-of-vms-through-ispconfig-3-debian-6.0 Asking as I don't want to break running system....
Openvz should not be installed on a server that hosts websites with apache or nginx, thats why this is a separate setup and not part of the perfect server guide. Hosting a website requires hardddisk quota for the website quota limit but a openvz VM will not start when quota is configured on a server, so you cant run openvz vm's normally on a hosting system. Only if you dont need any space llimitations in your websites (quota), then remove quota in /etc/fstab and uninstall the quota package and afterwards install the openvz kernel and tools as described in the openvz guide above.
