Hi, I was wondering what the installation and configuration process is for squirrelmail on debian multiserver setup. Fist I install squirrelmail : then create symlink? : then configure squirrelmail : Do I then customise the following, using the same settings?, if not what should they be? : I was also wondering where abouts I reconfigure squirrelmail to connect to my mail server instead of localhost. Thanks very much for your time!
Hi Falko, sorry to be a pain but I have a query about the settings I should use when configuring squirrelmail. I have noticed that when setting the IMAP server for squirrelmail you do : But during the setup for Debian, courier is not installed. Does this mean I should install courier? If so should I follow step 9 of Perfect server install for Debian Lenny? : Then step : 19.2 SquirrelMail? Thanks very much for your help!
Hi Falko, Just to say that I followed the multiserver setup guide on the ISPConfig manual and ISPConfig works great! I am however having problems with email. I have seen where I went wrong with the squirrelmail config - use dovecot instead of courier. I have setup a new domain and mail box in ISPConfig, I can login to squirrelmail, but cannot send or recieve emails. I get the error : Any ideas?, Thanks very much!.
Are there any errors in your mail log (in the /var/log/ directory)? What's the output of Code: netstat -tap ?
Hi Falko, I have checked mail.log on my webserver and it is empty, I run netstat -tap and get : mail.log on my mail server is quite full, the only thing I could find is : Do you need the entire log? The output of netstat -tap on my mail server is : Thanks!
Hi Falko, I am able to send emails internally, what modifications do I have to make to enable emails to be sent externally? Many Thanks!
Hi, I have tried using outlook, but I am unsure what settings to use for incoming mail and outgoing mail, So I have used following settings : Have checked box "my server requires authentication". (is this what you meant?) Have outgoing mail smtp : port 25 Incoming mail pop3 : port 110 But still dont get incoming external mail, and get the following error when sending email : Thanks very much for your time, its just that I am new to all of this, and need a little help!
Does mail.example.com point to the correct server? You can check that with Code: dig mail.example.com
Hi, The result of dig mail.example.com is This points to the external ip address of web.example.com (81.192.138.12)rather than the address of mail.example.com.
Hey Falko, Everything nows works!, i'd just like to thank you for all the help you have given me, i'm absolutely delighted. ISPConfig is superb!
