Installing SSH on a hosted VPS

Hello All,

Is there a good tutorial for installing SSH on a hosted VPS? I figure before I go through a lot of configuration work I better make sure no one can hack the server while I am working on it, or even afterwards.

edit: The VPS is running Ubuntu 10.04

 

sudo apt-get install openssh-server

Then install fail2ban: http://www.howtoforge.com/fail2ban_debian_etch
I'd also recommend to set up key-based logins: http://www.howtoforge.com/ssh_key_based_logins_putty
