For some reason my "ipop3d" keeps crashing the last couple of days. I've had a look in the log files, but till now I do not see any reason why! Is there an easy way (command) to start ipop3d again? I can not find anything close to this in /etc/init.d/ Anyone here who might also know why this could suddenly happen? Traffic is not more than usual, and no "big" changes are made to the server.
You can use monit to monitor ipop3d and to restart it automatically if it fails. I guess ipop3d is controlled by inetd. Take a look at /etc/inetd.conf.
