What do the numbers in brackets refer to in the IPtables filter file?

    i.e

    :pREROUTING ACCEPT [164:15203]
    :INPUT ACCEPT [164:15203]
    :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0]
    :OUTPUT ACCEPT [147:63028]
    :pOSTROUTING ACCEPT [147:63028]

I am wondering as if they are necessary to be altered when i update my script?
are they some sort of serial number like in bind? or are they ports from and too??

having trouble finding out what its for in google

    Thanks in advance
