IPV4 or IPV6 in DNS?

I read somewhere in the forums that it isn't good practice to enter both IPv4 and IPV6 adresses in the records, which one do you recommend, IPv6 or IPV4?
Does it really make a difference, I'm suspecting IPV6 may be better from an email point of view?

Who suggested it wasn't good practice? At the present point I would suggest it would be bad practice not to include both. Support for IPV6 is gaining sure, but its not at such a level yet that you can forgo ipv4. I for one have no ipv6 from my isp, they are working on it but its not rolled out as yet.

Dismiss ipv4 in favour of ipv6 and you could very well exclude a large portion of the internet from ever accessing the services you offer. Dismiss IPV6 and you exclude another large portion.

Either way you go there you are either future ready or not backward compatible. The hosts that use ivp4 will look for A records the hosts that use IPV6 will look for AAAA records, neither at this point should trump the other.
