Greetz I've just installed Fedora 8 on a old PC (AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz): all went fine except for the Network Card, a old PCI 10/100BaseTX that worked always good with the previous OS (Windows XP). The system brings up properly the card at start up and it works well for some time until it suddenly hangs: - each packed sent to any host on the network returns a icmp destination unreachable - using packed sniffers, i didnt see packets sent on the wire (in other words, the packet arent transmitted) To solve this problem i have to reset the switch port the card connects to, but after 2 mins the problem returns. I noticed also that the service irqbalance isnt running: irqbalance is dead but subsys locked I figure there is something related between the interrupts and the NIC, but i have no idea what to do, except trying to change network adapter Any tip? Thank you anticipately
