Hello Group, I have used ISPCONFIG 2 for quite some time now with very few problems and very much functionality and happiness. I just don't want to install version 3 if it is not stable so that is my first question. Is ISPCONFIG 3 in fact stable or at least as stable as version 2? Right now I use Roundcube and some other plug ins as well. Will the version 2 plugins work with version 3? Last question. I assume that there is no way or at least no easy way to salvage all my existing mail, websites etc. and that I just need to bite the bullet and do a whole new install just for version 3. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks, Art
1) ISPConfig 3 is stable. 2) The plugins will not work. ISPConfig 3 does not have this plugin interface as you can use the pacakges of your linux distribution instead. 3) There is no way to update a ispconfig 2 system directly to ispconfig 3. But if you are satisfied with the functions of ispconfig 2, there is no need to update to ispconfig 3. ISPConfig 3 is a multi server controlpanel, so if you just manage one server, you can stay with ispconfig 2.
Ispconfig 3 That helps clear things up. Thank you very much for the reply. I had some problems updating to the latest version with version 2 so I will probably go for the change. That and the fact that I do intend to run more than one server. This reply was right on target! Take care, Art
