    Hi

I am running The Perfect Server - Ubuntu 18.04 (Nginx, MySQL, PHP, Postfix, BIND, Dovecot, Pure-FTPD and ISPConfig 3.1)
Is it safe to run sudo apt full-upgrade so that latest packages applied on the server?

    thanks

That depends. Is the host plain ISPConfig installed following the Perfect Server Guide? No extra packages or repositories installed? No manually made configuration alterations?
I use unattended-upgrades so all updates are installed, and have seen very little problems. I would say there would be more problems if updates were not installed. But I also try to avoid messing up my servers, so I tend to run plain simple setups.

    thanks for the reply.

yes, ISPConfig installed following the Perfect Server Guide. but I have manual edit vhost files. also have node.js running.

I backed up the OS, and did the updates to secure the server. after reboot, everything seems working fine. not sure if

I assume the update would not change any existing config, right?

Do not manually edit vhost files, but use conf-custom if the edits are a lot or use directives if they are few, the latter is normally enough.

This is fine. I also have it running mine.

Make sure you follow update process for both ISPConfig and Ubuntu and not just either of them.
