As far as I know MyDNSConfig should be able to be applied to most distributions. Lots of info is available even via google searches. Also alternatively, you could also consider using your router (if fairly new one) if if supports DyDNS setups. There's many of them that offer this as a feature to allow the same function as using MyDNSConfig to allow for static like ip setup. For example of a router that supports this feature - look at something like a DIR-655 however there's many others that do it.
