Potential new customer wants to install MySQL instead of Mariadb to mimic an existing production server. Is there a way to specify in Installer to install MySQL instead of default Mariadb? Also customer is running ElasticSearch and Composer which I never heard of before. Can these apps run in a ISPConfig enviornment? Not manage them, but will ISPconfig interfere with their operation? usually only deal with Wordpress or simple web hosting apps and wanted some clarity.

    Thanks!

In my mind, surely it is possible for you to install mysql but I am not sure how you want to manage it, in a multi server environment where it is one of the database server?

You already knew that by default ISPConfig come with mariadb, probably also knew that it is also based on mysql, so they basically work almost the same.

I think it would be better if you could figure out why specifically your potential client really want it instead of mariadb, which has the same base and can do the same thing, or you could offer a trial run for him with mariadb, so it is easier for you to manage one type of database instead of two.

ElasticSearch and Composer are two possible things to work in an ISPConfig environment, the latter has a good use in ISPConfig web site setup and maintenance but do you really need the former inside your ISPConfig?

Google is your friend and nowadays multiple Ai is available to help you understand all of the softwares you mentioned above, so give any one or two or all of them a go to understand better.

The Autoinstaller installs MariaDB only and not MySQL.
