Is there an update to this thread that works with current debian systems? I cannot implement this, fail2ban wont restart if i add "ulimit -s 256" https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/optimize-your-fail2ban-memory-use-by-90.49666/ What can we do now to reduce fail2ban memory footprint? (i have 2GB memory and fail2ban is running as follows: 706MB /usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/fail2ban-server -s /var/run/fail2ban/fail2ban.sock -p ...
Your fail2ban uses twice as much memory as mine. Are your configurations extensive? I have what ISPConfig Perfect Server Guide tells me to configure plus longer bantimes.
I am going to go through that tutorial again and see if i cant configure mine the same. Even with a default install on the server i am having problems with, its fail2ban memory footprint is about 700MB. I will post an image of the resources usage here tomorrow. Time for bed now!
