    Hi,
    Reading debian10 perfect server install
I'm preparing a new server 3.2 and was revisiting my 3.1 install. I noticed a major change in
/usr/share/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php edition. Lots of uncommenting and usage of pma user to configure storage.

I was wondering why such change in 3.2 that were not in 3.1

    Thank you

    Martin

    Hi Th0m,

if you look at this page https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...-dovecot-ispconfig-3.1/2/#-install-phpmyadmin you would noticed that no change are made to the /usr/share/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php. I confirmed on my old server that this file has been unmodified. I had no issue weith phpMyAdmin.

    Compare to https://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-...nd-dovecot-ispconfig-3.1/#-install-phpmyadmin
there is a section were /usr/share/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php is being uncommented and adjusted.

I why just asking myself what drove this modification between both perfect server install.

    Cheers,
    Martin

Probably because this change is done by the Debian package, which is installed in the Debian 9 version, while we let the user do a manual install of PHPMyAdmin on Debian 10 as the package in the repo is outdated.

    Hi Th0m,
Dig deeper. You are right the package is post-install configure using dpkg which make phpmyadmin use a different set of configuration than /usr/share/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php . Those are located in /etc/phpmyadmin in my old Debian 9 and they look way more similar. Thank you
