The simple reason is that pure-ftpd reads its base configuration from its config file and not from MariaDB.
Thank you Till. I saw that but the documentation is not clear and poor. So for those who looking for the same probl: Add a file /etc/pure-ftpd/conf/MaxClientsNumber with 100 if you need 100 connexions.
