Ispconfig 3 mail not working

Hi,

I have a fresh install of ISPconfig 3. I have created mail accounts and set it up like I think it should be... mxtoolbox.com says that im ok..

however nothing works. No internal mail, no external mail.

But heres the kicker, when i rebooted the server the mail was sent... wtf?

My DNS records are:

A epibrate.com. 87.98.171.221 0

MX epibrate.com. epibrate.com. 10
NS epibrate.com. r28466.ovh.net. 0

Are those correct?

Please check if the MySQL user and password are correct in your amavisd configuration.

I tried to find the config file but was unsuccessful.

/usr/share/doc/amavisd-new/examples/amavisd.conf-sample.gz

Locate also only seems to find that? Maybe that is the problem.

Also I never actually defined or setup amavisd... was this done automatically by ISPconfig?

I don't know if you are familiar with the hosting provider OVH.co.uk but I am using an RPS server of theirs which comes with a pre-installed ISPconfig 3 distribution. So I didnt install any of this stuff myself.

Any Idea how I might proceed?

 

Operating system: Ispconfig 3 (Debian 5.0 Lenny) BETA

My server provider calls the OS Ispconfig 3... but I assume thats just to make it sound like it's the best choice for hosting providers.

 

Ok ive gone with the updater and it updates until it asks for the mysql password.

I have never set it up except for the mysql database for my website.. but I think this wants the mysql database for root.

I tried entering my root password to no avail.
