Hi thanks for the reply, I tried to find the config file but was unsuccessful. :/# locate amavisd.conf /usr/share/doc/amavisd-new/examples/amavisd.conf-default.gz /usr/share/doc/amavisd-new/examples/amavisd.conf-sample.gz Locate also only seems to find that? Maybe that is the problem. Also I never actually defined or setup amavisd... was this done automatically by ISPconfig? I don't know if you are familiar with the hosting provider OVH.co.uk but I am using an RPS server of theirs which comes with a pre-installed ISPconfig 3 distribution. So I didnt install any of this stuff myself. Any Idea how I might proceed?
Operating system: Ispconfig 3 (Debian 5.0 Lenny) BETA My server provider calls the OS Ispconfig 3... but I assume thats just to make it sound like it's the best choice for hosting providers.
Ok, under debian the file that falko mentioned is named 50-user and it should be in the directory /etc/amavisd/conf.d/ or similar. But the easiest fix should be to download just the latest ispconfig 3.0.1.4 version and run the update.php script as described in the manual update instructions here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38795 Then during update choose yes if you were ask to reconfigure the services. This should fix the amavisd configuration too.
Ok ive gone with the updater and it updates until it asks for the mysql password. I have never set it up except for the mysql database for my website.. but I think this wants the mysql database for root. I tried entering my root password to no avail. mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /tmp/ispconfig3_install/install/lib/mysql.lib.php on line 78 Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /tmp/ispconfig3_install/install/update.php on line 152
To run this, you have to use the root password. You can check it with: mysql -h localhost -u root -p if you found your root password, then use the update script again.
