I have looked high an low and have not had a confirming result yet if ISPConfig 3 will work on a i386 CentOS 5.5 setup.

Can anyone confirm if it works or not.

ISPConfig 3 has no Binary code, so it does not matter for ISPConfig 3 if the computer is i386, x86_64 or PPC. As long as you find a supported Linux distribution that offers all packages that ispconfig requires for i386, then ispconfig should work.

But I doubt that your i386 processor has enough CPU power to get a usable system.

Thank you very much for the information. I am just toying around on a linux system to learn.

So do you think a 2xDuel Xeon with 4gb mem not enough power? What would you recommend?

I thought you refer to a Intel 386 processor. If you mean just 32bit cpu, then you may use any recent CPU.
