Hello to all, I am triyng to configure PTR records in ISPC3 and have no ideea how to make this to work. I have set up the the zones like it says in the ispc manual and still they are not working. In ispc 2 it worked like a charm. I have my own IP class, so please don't tell me to contact my ISP. I have also attached some images with my zone config. Please someone tell me how to solve that.
Hi K_meleonu, I've noticed that you are from RO, and I my problem was my ISP. In my enviroment I have a subnet with 16 IP's and only after my ISP allowed me to manage the PTR records I hade a fully working reverse DNS. I've created a new zone like 144-159.zxx.xxx.yxx.in-addr.arpa. pointing to my NS, and PTR records for every IP who need a reverse DNS. So, I think is better to create one new zone for your class.
Hi, As we are ISP we need to configure PTR record in ISPconfig 3. So i created zone pri.10.1.0.in-addr.arpa. But it is not working. when i do nslookup it is not resolving to host. I already checked the zone file with named-checkzone its not giving any error.
Hi harshu294, Did you figure this issue? We are in the same boat as you and not sure how it suppose to work? Thanks,
I don't understand whether i should configure like , 10.10.1.144 to abc.example.com or should i configure like, 144 to abc.example.com.
