Hi Till, I have a weird problem with a new website with a brand new SSL-certifcate. After creating the web with its own IP in ISPConfig3 and installing the SSL-certicate, everything works. On the moment the site can be visited with http://www.domain.com and https://www.domain.com, because i do not use a redirect to https:// yet. The weird thing is that from time to time (several times a day) http://www.domain.com shows the default Apache webpage "It works" and not the content of the website. When this happens https://www.domain.com gives the error "ssl error rx record too long". The vhost of the website is correct. The domain name is pointing to my server, so i don't know what could be wrong. Any idea?
Looks like a DNS issue, e.g. when the secondary dns server delivers a different IP for www.domain.com then the primary DNS. Please query the primary and secondary dns server with dig to see if both servers return the correct IP address.
In the mean the problem has been solved. It had nothing to do with ISPConfig3. The problem was caused by a conflict with the IP-address within my network.
