Hi! A few days ago, I created an SSH user via ISPConfig. This deleted the web folder, and the /var/www/clients/clientx/weby folder looks a bit different. Restoring the backup worked, and the website works so far. However, the FTP users don't work when I create them. The FTP client reports: Time expired (data connection), directory contents could not be retrieved, error displaying directory "/". The syslog contains: 2025-04-11T08:35:51.901659+02:00 deb-servername pure-ftpd: (?@ipv4-address) [INFO] ftp_1_test is now logged in 2025-04-11T08:36:17.136554+02:00 deb-servername pure-ftpd: (?@ipv4-address) [INFO] ftp_1_test is now logged in 2025-04-11T08:38:07.808087+02:00 deb-servername pure-ftpd: (ftp_1_test@ipv4-address) [INFO] Logout. 2025-04-11T08:38:32.824620+02:00 deb-servername pure-ftpd: (ftp_1_test@ipv4-address) [INFO] Logout. Has anyone had this problem before? Thank you in advance!
You say nothing about what system is running on that host. Start with this: https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/please-read-before-posting.58408/ Creating a SSH user or FTP user should not remove the web files. That is really strange. The FTP user logged in successfully, have you changed the FTP user directory to something else? More info needed.
