We have developed an image that automatically installs ISPConfig on a server. The setup is based on The Perfect Server - Debian 9 (Stretch) with Apache, BIND, Dovecot, PureFTPD and ISPConfig 3.1. The image can be used for both dedicated and virtual servers. With openVZ there may be occasional problems, because the kernel of openVZ is too old for Debian Stretch. Under Proxmox 5 and on dedicated Hetzner servers, the image can be easily installed within a few minutes. During the installation, individual passwords are set for mysql, phpmyadmin, rouncube and ISPConfig and all services are installed and configured. We are still looking for some testers for the generated images. If you are interested, please send us a PN.
It's generall possible to use this for slave-servers, too. But you have to made some changes to set the settings for the master-server.
The OpenVZ project has stopped its development of Kernels some time ago, so OpenVZ should not be used anymore.
@till, @florian030 Thank you for providing valuable information. Is there any alternative software or plugin that can be used for realising virtual servers?
