I would like to create a centos as domU and install ispconfig3.

however, i do not want store mails, web files, etc in domU but in nfs server (if domU crashed, it would be rather difficult to recover them).

pls suggest which directories should be resided on nfs server?

We have 1 ISPConfig server that we use for email only (and a few small websites).

We just symlinked /var/www to a directory on our NetApp and then installed ISPConfig :)

/var/www is where all the user files are being saved, so that folder should suffice.

The NetApp has snapshots (1 week retention), and a complete backup is made weekly, so we have 2 week retention on a backup.

For emails you should also put /var/vmail on the network drive beside /var/www
