    Hi there,

I run a busy game server on this hardware:

    Intel P4 2.8Ghz
    2GB RAM
    2 x 80GB Hard Drives
    100Mbit Uplink

I'd like to install ISPConfig onto the machine to power a couple of websites. But I'm wondering how much memory and CPU all of the components will eat up?

If this is a lot, will switching to Lighttpd help me in any way?

    Thanks!

ISPconfig and the required components like apache, postfix, mysql etc. do not need many resources. One of my old servers has just 500 MB Ram and a 2 GHZ celeron processor and runs > 100 sites where some of them have a few hundred thousand pageviews per month.

    Ok, thanks :)

Will using Lighty help with resource usage/speed in a noticeable way?

I've seen tutorials on the forums about converting the normal installation to Lighty.. or do these not work any more?

They may work, but they are untested and not supported. If you modify your ISPConfig like this, you will not be able to update it afterwards without applying all changes again and you have the risk that the system is unstable.

    Ok, I'll stick with LAMP.

    Thanks.
