    Hello,

Thinking out of the box here, I have a question for hard-core ispconfig developers:

How hard it would be (in your opinion) to move ispconfig to something like opensolaris (precisely an opensolaris zone) ?

I know about the freebsd port which is in planning state.

The point is all of the software that ispconfig manage runs nicely and happily on solaris/openindiana. All that needs chanding is the path for various configuration files and the hooks to restart a service (commands are different but semantics are the same).

So the real question is: is there a layer of abstraction in ispconfig that could be rewritten to allow it to run on another posix system than linux?

ISPConfig is completely modular and based on plugins, so you would be able to manage even windows servers with it in theory. All you have to do is to write new plugins for your target operating system.
