Hi all, I have the following question: I have installed and running my ISPConfig server. Ubuntu 8.04. Installed the perfect server way. ISPConfig 2.2.27 I have installed several joomla sites on the server and they are all working fine. So no problem you think but: I reed on a joomla forum that it's the save way to use 644 for files and 755 for dir. I must however when installing Joomla and other stuff put the rights to 777 to get things working and get it installed, if I chance things back to 755 or even 644 it doesn't work any more. So how to set the server up to use the save rights for Joomla? TIA
I did a little bit of searching about suPHP and think its what i need. If I read it correct I can set the permissions for each site separately. One question before i go and follow the link you provided. Can I installed it onto the already working server? Or will I lost the rights for the already online sites? If i lose the working off the sites I must do it at night to have the least troubles. TIA
Yes - take a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/install-s...tions-for-use-with-ispconfig-2.2.20-and-above But keep in mind that the next time you change anything in ISPConfig, all existing sites will be switched from mod_php to suPHP.
