Dear, i have trouble to understand right what is the correct ISPConfig default webmail default address. Generally speaking i always toughts that the address of the webmail should be: https://host-of-the-server:8081/webmail address. And this is the URL that now encourage to our customer in order to use proper webmail. Generally we don't like the http://customer-domain/webmail (nor https://customer-domain/webmail) solution because often our customer host their website outside, in order to use with us only mail services. In other side we don't like also the http://webmail.customer-domain (nor https://webmail.customer-domain) solution because this mean that we need to register an ssl cert for every of this hostnames, and could become cumbersome. So my opinion is that https://host-of-the-server:8081/webmail is the way to go, but, as an old issue that I have opened few months ago (#6659) the actual default configuration of this host has the content security headers very strict that does not allow to see any image embedded on the mail itself when hosted on thirdy party domains. And at this time i'm not sure if this is a issue or an expected behaviour of the default ISPConfig configuration (but idk how could be, as far as this means that basically the html mail are unusable). (i known that i can override the header on the virtualhost conf, but this will be lost on the next update, and we strive to keep our installation as standard as possible). So, now the question: what is the best strategy to provide a reliable way to use the webmail for our customer? Is https://host-of-the-server:8081/webmail the correct address that we can keep to comunicate to our customer? Thank you for any suggestions.
thank you Till, but in that way, the html emails are basically not usable from there with the actual content-security policy applied..
You are free to modify the default template of the apps vhost in any way you like. You can also create a website and install a webmail client there.
