I am having issues with MyDNS randomly stopping and I have to restart it. Where does MyDNS log to? Also is there anything built into ISPConfig3 to notify me when it stops?

Any errors in the logs in the /var/log/ directory?

I have looked and don't see anything. I assume I am missing it though. Do you know what file in /var/log/ that this would be logging to?

    Something like /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog.

I don't see anything honestly. I did however notice that the process never stops but if I do netstat -tap it is no longer listening on the port. Then if I stop and restart the service it starts listening again.

Any ideas? This is starting to be a huge issue for me.

    root@ispconfig3:~# /etc/init.d/mydns stop
Stopping DNS server: mydnsstart-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 16598: No such process

Hard to say where the problem is. Which distribution do you use?

Ubuntu. I followed the how-to step by step everything works fine. I am at a lost as well.

Did you do a distribution upgrade, e.g. from 9.10 to 10.04?
