I installed ISPconfigure, but was having problems with PHP giving me 500 error, so I uninstalled ISPconfigure and chose yes to delete everything associated, whatever.

Well, I reinstalled and I got all kinds of problems, it's as if some of the data didn't delete itself.

firstoff, when trying to add a mail account for the site, it tells me:

The username is already in use.

Okay, I don't know where it exists, but I guess so....

Now when I go to ftp to the site, I log in, but I'm in /home/user, instead of /home/www/my.site.com/

can someone help me get rid of this old data?

    Which distribution do you use?
Is the user name already in /etc/passwd?

Did you install php as mod_php or cgi? Generally reinstalling is not nescessary as this problem is normally not related to the ISPCOnfig installation.

ISPConfig blocks all usernames that are present before the ISPCOnfig installation. The locked Users are listed in the file /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/users. If you remove the username from there, ISPConfig is able to overwrite the username in /etc/passwd.
